Sande Cox

Sande started in radio in 2000 in her hometown of Natchez, Miss. She flourished there and her abilities were recognized and recruited by Citadel Broadcasting in Baton Rouge, La., and then Clear Channel Communications in New Orleans.
Hurricane Katrina sent her to Clarksville, where she started with 5 Star Radio as a Marketing Consultant in 2005. She stepped up to the position of NTR/Event/Promotions Manager in 2006 and in 2009 became the General Sales Manager.
She has experience serving as an advertising agency for local and regional clients, event planning and was a partner in WCKV – Ctv, Clarksville’s Channel 9.
Sande volunteers in many ways, including sitting on the Board of Directors of Manna Café; serving as a New Business Development Committee Member for the Clarksville Chamber of Commerce; and being a Clarksville Parks and Recreation Green Home Tour Committee Member. She also volunteers with the March of Dimes, Best of Clarksville committee and Clarksville High School football and baseball booster clubs among other groups.
She truly believes in the power of radio and celebrates success when clients decide to hand all of their advertising responsibilities to 5 Star Radio because they see that our efforts are paying off.
“I enjoy setting goals and drawing a map for clients to follow to reach those goals,” she says. “I really like analyzing what they’re trying to achieve and helping them do it.”

Dave Parker

Dave Parker has been a member of the 5 Star Radio Group team since October 2003. Since then he has helped dozens of businesses in the Clarksville /Hopkinsville area grow their business. Dave’s experience in Radio and marketing spans 25 years.
Dave became a Certified Radio Marketing Consultant (CRMC) in 1986. The certification program is overseen by the Radio Advertising Bureau. Graduates of the program display excellent skills and knowledge not only about the Radio industry, but how to make other media work best for advertisers in general.

Amy Kelly has been a member of the 5 Star Radio Group team since July 2005. Amy greatly believes in the future growth of Clarksville and its local businesses. She is highly involved in Clarksville’s Chamber of Commerce. Along with being on the Chamber Membership Committee she is also the 5 Star Radio Group’s Chamber Ambassador.

Marcia is a native of Clarksville and a graduate CHS and APSU, magna cume laude, with a Bachelor’s of Science in Information Systems. She has two grown children, Callie and Montgomery.
She has an extensive background in outside sales, selling health club memberships. She has worked as an IT recruiter and sales manager for a local rock quarry. She also has several years’ experience as a team builder in the direct sales industry, building two companies to the highest level of achievement. She has been featured in national publications highlighting her success.

Willie’s history and experience in radio could barely fit on this page. He’s an area native, a Navy veteran and the definition of spry ole guy. He has done almost every job one could do in radio – news director, on air, producer, general manager, sales manager and most recently, Marketing Consultant.

Lauren Ours

Lauren graduated from Austin Peay State University with a degree in communication arts. Radio worked its way into her heart during an internship at Jacobs Media in Gainesville, Ga. Over the past two years, she’s been surrounded by social media, radio sales, public relations and communications and says she loves everything about it.
She and her husband spend their weekends barbecuing, tailgating and playing with their 1-year-old daughter and two dogs.
Lauren says she’s looking forward to learning more about the marketing industry, helping her clients reach their goals and getting to know more people the community.

Kim came to Tennessee from Ohio and married into the Austin Peay community. She spent most of her professional life in sales in the Automotive Remarketing Industry but is looking forward to helping Clarksville businesses make sales and move up in customers’ minds. She was drawn to radio because she likes the high energy level and “circus-like excitement.”
“I’ve enjoyed working with people and am always up for a challenge. This position allows me to meet people, learn about their business and come up with a collaborative strategy to help them meet their goals,” she says.
Kim and her husband have four children, two dogs, two cats and a rabbit. She runs, enjoys her kids’ sporting events, Titans football and The Ohio State Buckeyes.

Garrett Belvin

Garrett is a Clarksville boy, born and raised. He grew up around radio and says he never considered a career outside the signal. He’s studying for a bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in marketing from Austin Peay State University. Garrett says being a Marketing Consultant for 5 Star Radio is the perfect way to work in marketing and fuel his passion for radio.
“The impact radio has on people – whether it be news, music or sports – the impact is massive,” he says.
Garrett spends his free time fishing or skiing at the lake and watching Atlanta Braves games and UT play.

Erica Gideon

Erica Gideon comes to Clarksville from Chicago, where she worked as Marketing Manager for a Segway tour company and as an Account Manager at CDW, a technology provider.
As Marketing Manager for the tour company, she created and implemented a marketing plan and managed advertising campaigns. Erica, who graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in marketing and fashion merchandising, looks at radio as an exciting way for businesses to reach people in the community.
Erica operates a small business with her husband and understands the obstacles that need to be overcome to be successful. Her time in marketing and business ownership provide her a mix of knowledge and passion to help businesses in Clarksville thrive.
In her free time, Erica enjoys boating, wakeboarding and playing tennis. She’s a member of Clarksville Young Professionals, is on the Membership Development Board and Public and Community Affairs Committee for the Chamber of Commerce, among many other civic organizations.

Charlie Koon

Charlie Koon is a fixture in the Clarksville community. From owning a local business to volunteering to working in local government, Charlie has contributed to every aspect of the town.
He most recently worked as Chief of Staff for Mayor Kim McMillan, where he watched and helped Clarksville grow in population as well as industrial and economic areas. He directed projects affecting the city’s infrastructure and improving the quality of life in Clarksville.
Charlie strengthened his marketing and relationship building skills as the Marketing, Security and Business Development Officer for Cumberland Bank & Trust. He supervised personnel, ensured compliance with regulatory requirements and managed branding efforts. His time focusing on business development, promotional product development, marketing and web design make him a capable and skilled Media Marketing Consultant, well-versed in all things that spell out business success.
As former owner of Mary’s Music, Charlie knows business success first-hand. He learned the finer points of building a business in 1992, when he wrote a business plan, secured capital and marketed the store to ensure its success. Through Charlie help, the profits for the business multiplied by six times. He sold the company in 2005 to pursue other career opportunities.
Outside of work, Charlie still contributes heavily to the success of Clarksville businesses and residents by working with dozens of nonprofit organizations and serving on charity boards like YMCA, United Way and Crime Stoppers. In 2008, he was named Clarksville’s “Citizen of the Year.” He is active in the Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Clarksville, Leadership Middle Tennessee, the Kiwanis Club, Sigma Chi Fraternity and many other civic organizations and programs. Charlie graduated from Austin Peay State University and lives in Clarksville with his wife Traci and daughter Lexi. He’s a golfer, runner and fan of all types of music.

Chris Harris

Chris graduated from the University of Memphis with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She came to radio from a newspaper in Missouri. She enjoys the creative and energetic atmosphere of radio and values the omnipresence of 5 Star Radio on air and online in the Clarksville area.

Chris helps with event planning and digital advertising inventory at 5 Star Radio and oversees Daily Deals Clarksville and digital advertising design.
